THE CONQUEST OF MAKKAH May 20, 2008

Allah has confirmed His Messenger’s vision with truth: You will enter the Masjid al-Haram [Sacred Mosque] in safety, Allah willing, shaving your heads and cutting your hair without any fear. He knew what you did not know and ordained, in place of this, an imminent victory. (Qur’an, 48:27)

One night in Madinah, the Prophet (saas) dreamed that the believers would enter the Sacred Mosque and walk around the Ka`bah. After he awoke, he gave this good news to the believers, for those who had migrated from Makkah to Madinah with him had not been able to return since.

In Surat al-Fath 27, Allah revealed to the Prophet (saas) that He would help and support him, that the dream was true, and that the believers would enter Makkah. A short while later, with the Treaty of Hudaybiyah and the conquest of Makkah, the believers entered the Sacred Mosque in complete safety, just as the dream had foretold. That was how Allah showed that it had been His will that the Prophet’s (saas) dream be fulfilled.

On closer consideration, this verse can be seen to announce yet another victory that will take place before Makkah’s capture: the capture of the Khyber Fortress, which was under the control of the Jews, before they entered Makkah.183

Other verses that give the glad tidings of Makkah’s conquest are given below:

He held their hands back from you, and your hands from them in the valley of Makkah, after giving you the upper hand over them. Allah sees what you do. (Qur’an, 48:24)

Truly We have granted you a clear victory, so that Allah may forgive you your earlier errors and any later ones, complete His blessing upon you, and guide you on a Straight Path. And so that Allah may help you with a mighty help. (Qur’an, 48:1-3)

Surat al-Isra’ 76 states that the unbelievers cannot stay in Makkah:

They were very near to scaring you from the land with the object of expelling you from it. But had they done so, they would only have remained there a short time after you. (Qur’an, 17:76)

The Prophet (saas) entered Makkah and conquered it in 8 ah (630). Two years later, all of the unbelievers left Makkah, just as Allah had said that they would. Another point that should be noted here is that when the Prophet (saas) gave that good news to the believers, it looked totally out of the question. In fact, the situation pointed in quite the opposite direction, and the polytheists appeared quite determined never to let the believers enter Makkah. As a result, those who had doubts in their hearts began to doubt the Prophet’s (saas) words. Yet, the Prophet (saas) trusted in Allah, paid no attention to the doubters’ words, and told people what Allah had revealed to him. The Qur’an confirmed his words, and the prediction was fulfilled shortly afterwards.

The Formation of Rain May 9, 2008

The Formation of Rain

How rain forms remained a great mystery for a long time. Only after weather radar was invented was it possible to discover the stages by which rain is formed.

According to this, the formation of rain takes place in three stages. First, the “raw material” of rain rises up into the air with the wind. Later, clouds are formed, and finally raindrops appear.

The Qur’an’s account of the formation of rain refers exactly to this process. In one verse, this formation is described in this way:

(It is God Who sends the winds which stir up clouds which He spreads about the sky however He wills. He forms them into dark clumps and you see the rain come pouring out from the middle of them. When He makes it fall on those of His slaves He wills, they rejoice.) (The Qur’an, 30:48)

Now, let us examine these three stages outlined in the verse more technically.

FIRST STAGE: It is God Who sends the winds…

Countless air bubbles formed by the foaming of the oceans continuously burst and cause water particles to be ejected towards the sky. These particles, which are rich in salt, are then carried away by winds and rise upward in the atmosphere. These particles, which are called aerosols, function as water traps, and form cloud drops by collecting around the water vapour themselves, which rises from the seas as tiny droplets.

SECOND STAGE:…. which stir up clouds which He spreads about the sky however He wills. He forms them into dark clumps…

The clouds are formed from water vapour that condenses around the salt crystals or dust particles in the air. Because the water droplets in these clouds are very small (with a diameter between 0.01 and 0.02 mm), the clouds are suspended in the air, and spread across the sky. Thus, the sky is covered in clouds.

THIRD STAGE:…and you see the rain come pouring our from the middle of them

The water particles that surround salt crystals and dust particles thicken and form raindrops, so, drops that become heavier than the air leave the clouds and start to fall to the ground as rain.

As we have seen, every stage in the formation of rain is related in the verses of the Qur’an. Furthermore, these stages are explained in exactly the right sequence. Just as with many other natural phenomena on the Earth, God gives the most correct explanation of this phenomenon as well, and made it known to people in the Qur’an centuries before it was discovered.

In another verse, the following information is given about the formation of rain:

(Have you not seen how God drives along the clouds, then joins them together, then makes them into a stack, and then you see the rain come out of it? And He sends down from the sky mountain masses (of clouds) with cold hail in them, striking with it anyone He wills and averting it from anyone He wills. The brightness of His lightning almost blinds the sight.) (The Qur’an, 24:43)

Scientists studying cloud types came across surprising results regarding the formation of rain clouds. Rain clouds are formed and shaped according to definite systems and stages. The formation stages of cumulonimbus, one kind of rain cloud, are these:

1.STAGE, Being driven along: Clouds are carried along, that is, they are driven along, by the wind.

2.STAGE, Joining:Then, small clouds (cumulus clouds) driven along by the wind join together, forming a larger cloud.(1)

3.STAGE, Stacking:When the small clouds join together, updrafts within the larger cloud increase. The updrafts near the centre of the cloud are stronger than those near the edges. These updrafts cause the cloud body to grow vertically, so the cloud is stacked up. This vertical growth causes the cloud body to stretch into cooler regions of the atmosphere, where drops of water and hail formulate and begin to grow larger and larger. When these drops of water and hail become too heavy for the updrafts to support them, they begin to fall from the cloud as rain, hail, etc.(2)

We must remember that meteorologists have only recently come to know these details of cloud formation, structure and function, by using advanced equipment like planes, satellites, computers etc. It is evident that God has given us a piece of information that could not have been known 1,400 years ago.

(A) Isolated small pieces of clouds (cumulus clouds)
(B) When the small clouds join together, updrafts within the larger cloud increase, and so the cloud is stacked up.

These updrafts cause the cloud body to grow vertically, so the cloud is stacked up. This vertical growth causes the cloud body to stretch into cooler regions of the atmosphere, where drops of water and hail formulate and begin to grow larger and larger. When these drops of water and hail become too heavy for the updrafts to support them, they begin to fall from the cloud as rain, hail, etc. This scientific fact was announced in verse 43 of Sura Nur fourteen centuries ago by God in this way: “…then (He) makes them into a stack, and then you see the rain come out of it”

Ibn Omer narrated that the Prophet PBUH said:“ Dabble (edibles) in olive oil and anoint yourselves with it, for it is extracted from a blessed tree.” In another divine narration, narrated by Ibn Usayed (May Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet said: “Eat and anoint yourselves with olive oil, for it is extracted from a blessed tree.” Authenticated in Al-Atiemah by Ibn Majah whose chain of narrators are reliable and Abdul Razaq in Almusanaf and approved by Alahakim.
In line with the above Hadeeths, recent scientific researches approved that this edible oil has many protective advantages from the disease– arteriosclerosis (or atheroma) patchy thickening of the lining of arteries. Herein, the Prophet of all Mankind did advice man to orally take olive oil fourteen centuries ago.
Why did he do so? The answer is that olive oil as has been recently confirmed scientifically contains chemical materials, which prevent the occurrence of blood clot in arteries (coronary thrombosis). While this chemical material further increases the ratio of the desired cholesterol of high density namely HDL, it prevents the other type of dangerous cholesterol from being clotted in the blood.
More over, physicians in Milan Hospital, Italy, prescribe olive oil as part of the medication given to those patients who underwent a heart surgery in arteries. Patients of artery problems are given four to five spoonfuls daily.
In his study published by the American Medical Magazine, 1986, Dr. Girandy, a professor in Texas University, USA, stated that olive oil decreases cholesterol by 13% and the fatty proteins by 21%. He, therefore, advises Americans to take olive oil instead of other oils in order to prevent themselves from and avoid artery diseases. (Extracts from the Prophetic Medicine)

Mountains are huge chunks of stone rocks. They exist on abigger chunk called the Earth. Both are from the same material. Usually people consider that mountain are huge chunks which sit on another bigger chunk. But when Man probed various layers of the Earth, he found that mountain penetrate the fur layer of the Earth. This first layer is fifty kilometers Thick Mountain bases get linked with the Earth is armoring one. However to protect the upper layer of the Earth from being affected by the second moving layer Allah the exited in might fixed it by mountains which penetrate the Two layers satiation the first one Mountain fix the first layer just like the peg which foxes the tent. Therefor researchers found a root under each mountain which penetrates the layer of the Earth Researcher were amazed when they found that this fact has been revealed in the holy Own Quern says “And the mountains as pegs? “78:7” It also says And the mountain Hath He firmly fixed “79:32 Another Ironic verses He set on the earth mountains standing firm lest it should shake with you “31:15” Source the Age of faith dawned” By: Skaikh Abdel Majeed El Zindai

Shaking of Soil May 4, 2008

In the first scientific conference about the scientific miracles in Quran and Sunna that was held in Islamabad in Pakistan, a scholar of plant said that there is a Quran verse which tells us about a scientific fact discovered in 1827. In 1827 a British scientist by name of Brown has discovered that when the rain reaches the soil it creates shaking & trembling of molecules of soil. The soil contains various molecules that have different types of tins that packed on each other. When rains fall, these different types of this create different types of electrical currents due to the fact that tin may be of different types of minerals. These tins get ionized (the ion is a molecule among a group of molecules which have an electrical current. If the electrical current decreases in some of them they turn into a positive ion & if it increases in some of them they turn into a negative ion) When it rains, these ionic molecules get shaked and as water invades them from different directions (shaking and trembling of these packed ionic molecules is useful because it distances the packed tins & creates gaps where water can enter in-between the tins) they absorb water and their sizes increase. When they become satiated by water they turn to be mineral stores of water inside the soil. Plants get the supply of water for two or three months from these stores. Otherwise if these stores were not formed water will infiltrate to the depth of the soil and plant would die within a week. Therefore, the British scientist found that when rains fall on soil the different packed mineral molecules in the soil get shaked and by their different electrical current they get ionized. What Brown, the British scientist has found has been called by his name. Ironically it has been called “Brown’s Shaking”, whereas it has been mentioned in Quran before fourteen centuries. It has been called by that name because Man is not just and he does not read and inquire. If man wants to be just he should read what Quran said before fourteen century that “And (further) thou seest, the earth barren and lifeless. But when we pouer down Rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)” [22:5] Therefore Quran preceded the modern science in revealing the shaking of soil caused by rain, this is a great evident that Dawn is a divine revelation. It was revealed to the prophet Mohammed “PBUH” to give the most pusper guidance to human life as well as him to offer many secrets of the cosmos which he has to struggle to discover of he does not read and examine the content of Quran. Miracle of Iron May 2, 2008

Iron is one of the elements highlighted in the Qur’an. In Surat al-Hadid, meaning Iron, we are informed:

…And We sent down iron in which there lies great force and which has many uses for mankind…. (Surat al-Hadid: 25)

The word “sent down” particularly used for iron in the verse, could be thought of having a metaphorical meaning to explain that iron is given to the service of people. But when we take into consideration the literal meaning of the word, which is, “being physically sent down from the sky”, we realize that this verse implies a very significant scientific miracle.

This is because modern astronomical findings have disclosed that the metal of iron found in our world has come down from the giant stars in outer space.

The heavy metals in the universe are produced in the nucleus of big stars. Our solar system, however, does not have a suitable structure to produce iron on its own. Iron can only be produced in much bigger stars than the sun, where the temperature reaches a few hundred million degrees. When the amount of iron exceeds a certain level in a star, the star can no longer bear it and eventually it explodes in what is called a “nova” or a “supernova”. As a result of this explosion, meteors containing iron are scattered around the universe and they move through the void until attracted by the gravitational force of a celestial body.

All this shows that the iron metal did not form on the earth but was carried from exploding stars in space via meteorsand was “sent down to earth exactly the same way as stated in the verse: It is clear that this fact could not have been scientifically known in the 7th century, when the Qur’an was revealed.

( And We sent down iron in which there lies great force and which has many uses for mankind.) (Surat al-Hadid: 25)

In addition, the 25th verse of Surat al-Hadid, which refers to iron, includes two interesting mathematical codes. Surat al-Hadid is the 57th Surah in the Qur’an. The numerical value of the word “Al-Hadid” in Arabic, in other words its Abjad, is the same number: 57. The numerical value of the word “Hadid” alone is 26, and 26 is the atomic number of iron.

The Pure water, the Fresh water and the Saline water

Written by: Eng. Abdul-Daim Kaheel

In this article we will see that the Quran tackles the different types of waters and categorizes them according to there degree of purity. The Qur’an identifies the “distilled” water which is rainwater as the pure water, names the “fresh” water that we drink from rivers and wells the “sweet” water and names the sea water that holds a high percentage of saltiness as “bitter” water. It has been established scientifically the distinction between these kinds, and this what we will cover thoroughly in the coming sections. It’s worthy to note the single drop of water contains five thousand million of water molecules!!! How many do the world seas include!!?

The Qur’an speaks about Distilled Water

Allah, all grandeur to Him says in His Glorious verses:

(And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water)The Criterion, 48.

I have contemplated on this verse for a long while and discovered that it tackles precisely the specifications that scientists label now days as “Distilled Water”. They have revealed that the water we drink contains many substances and organisms. The single cup of drinking water we think is pure, carries millions of minute organisms like bacteria and viruses, and contains mineral substances like iron, copper, aluminum, sodium, magnesium and calcium. In addition it also contains organic substances like carbon, dust and other substances, all included in what we call as “pure” water.

Scientists have discovered that this water can be purified by heating it until the boiling point of 100 degrees Centigrade, then accumulating vapor, condensing it and then cooling it. As a result, you get distilled water that is pure to a great extent .Scientists say that the best kind of distilled water is rain water right before it descends to the ground and mixes with polluted particles in the air.

The civilization of this age has generated many of the pollution; the falling of rainwater cleans the atmosphere because the rainwater that is distilled is distinguished by its characteristic for the absorption of substances. It absorbs from the atmosphere, sulfur and other substances and minerals such as poisonous lead subsequently the rainwater’s essence is acidic .On the contrary, the past rainwater was pure because the atmosphere was not polluted.

When the rain water descends to the group it filtrates through the soil and between the rocks and follows very complicated paths, and during this journey it mixes with some minerals and the salts found in the rocks. Consequently the rainwater to some extent takes an alkaline flavor. Due to this fact, we find the distilled water is unpalatable because of there is no flavor to it, where as, the taste of spring water is palatable

Figure ( 1 ): Scientists announce today that rainwater is distilled, this pure water due to its purged characteristics, is an excellent remover of dirt and can cleanse and sterilize any thing .And Allah proved it  when He termed the descending water from the sky by the “pure” water and this on its own, is precisely and scientifically accurate.

)And we send down from the sky pure wate).

Characteristics of the Rain water

Now lets reckon some of the characteristics associated with the water descending from the sky i.e.: rainwater .The rainwater is considered exactly as distilled water, resulting from the vaporization of the water from the seas and its condensation in the form of clouds then it descending as rain . Therefore it is thoroughly pure water. The rainwater can remove the dirt on the human skin more than the regular water, thus this water is considered a disinfectant used in medicine .It is free from the viruses and bacteria, also possessing the feature of the absorption of metals, gases and dust particles and any substance that comes into contact with it on a large scale, therefore it is an antiseptic to the atmosphere as well.

After knowing these attributes we find that they meet accurately the single worded expression in the Qur’an about the rainwater, where Allah says:

(And We send down from the sky pure water) The criterion, 48.

The word “Tahara” (purified) in the language means the removal of dirt and impurities and the abstinence from it as stated in the dictionary.

The Fresh (Sweet) Water

There a new attribute associated with this water explained by the scientists and that it is capable of renewing the cells in the body on a larger scale rather than the common water. As for the energy scientists, they confirm that the rainwater possesses bigger quantities of energy, thus positively reflecting on the psychological state of the human.

Figure (2): Allah (swt) has mentioned the name of the river water and that stored under the ground that we drink as “sweet” water i.e.: water with acceptable taste. While He named the sea water by “salty” water for the indication of its surplus of saltiness. He also named the rainwater as “pure” water and hence the Qur’an is the first book that provides accurate scientific classification.

It is not strange that we find the Qur’an mentioning these characteristics clearly in the following verse:

(]Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky, rain by which to purify you and remove from you the evil [suggestions] of Satan and to make steadfast your hearts and plant firmly thereby your feet. )      Al-Anfal, 11.

This verse specifically talks about rain water through the verse: (sent down upon you from the sky rain) and we previously embarked upon the cleansing feature in this water as Allah says: (Which to purify you).

We also spoke about the presence of energy it possesses thus affecting the human in giving him the push and power for confirmation, needed when facing the enemy. By this we are talking about the positive energy when facing intricate situations (1) and this is indicated in the following verse: (and plant firmly thereby your feet).

It is noticable that the Quran differentiates between the word “Tahur”/pure and “Furat”/sweet in its verses for Allah says: (and have given you to drink sweet water.) Al-Mursalat, 27. The water we drink from the rivers, springs and wells is acceptable and taste sweet because it contains quantity of the minerals like iron that causing the water to taste sweet. This definition suits the expression “Furatan”/sweet. The term “Furat”/sweet water in the language is the water with acceptable taste as described in the linguistic dictionaries .While the descending water from the sky is distilled water which possesses the characteristics of sterilization and cleansing and carries not taste! Therefore the Divine described it as “Tahura”. So is there repetition in the Quran or is it a miracle?

The water as it descends from the sky is pure but when it mixes with the minerals and salts present in the land and become “Furatan”/sweet. Even though, the Qur’an speaks about the river waters, we find it using the term “Furatan”/sweet and not “Tahuran”/pure.

This is again due to the fact that the water of the sweet river contains many of the solved metals (minerals) in it, Exalted Allah says: (And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter.) Fater,12.

The Bitter Water

The following verse made me contemplate: (And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter.) Fater, 12. I wondered why Allah it associated each kind with two attributes, “Fresh and Sweet”-”Salty and Bitter”. We know that river water is “fresh”, why did Allah add another attribute “sweet”? Where as Sea water Allah described it as “Salty” but why did He assign to it another attribute “Bitter”? At the same time Allah assigned Rain water just one attribute “Pure”? Yes, this is because the rainwater as we saw earlier is pure, distilled and has neither taste nor smell, thus a single attribute suffices it.

Figure 3: The sea water is the “bitter” water. In the language the verb “Ujaj” means exceeded the limit, and this is what we find in sea water which maintains saltiness that exceeds the normal limit. Therefore Allah has described sea water as (Salty/Bitter) because the word (salty) is not enough as a description, but the fresh water does contain some salts but we don’t sense there presence!!

The Miracle:

The Quran uses the term “Tahuran”/Pure in association with water descending from the sky because it is pure water, and this is what scientists call “Distilled” water and considers it as a cleaning substance. Where as the word “Sweet” Allah does not associate it with sky water at all, but with the water that we drink.  River water is not completely pure and contains some salts and minerals giving it a palatable taste.

Further, if we ponder upon the Quranic description of Sea water we find the word “Ujaj”/Bitter which describes the excessive salt present in it. The Quran does not assign saltiness as an attribute on its own, it doesn’t say     “This is salty” only, but on the contrary, it mentions “It is salty and bitter”. From a scientific point of view if we say that the water contains salts then this is ludicrous because all water types contain salts with varying degrees, therefore it is a must to describe the degree of saltiness, and this precisely is what the Quran did.

The Quran is the first book that handles the disinfecting characteristic of rain water or distilled water and this attribute is not mentioned except in association with sky water.  Whereas the human writing does not differentiate between the fresh water , the sweet water and the pure water while the Quran accurately made a distinction and positioned each term in its accurate place.

Glory is to Allah, every single word and letter in his Book fits flawlessly. The question we wish to forward to the skeptics in the field of scientific Quranic miracle is: If the Quran was a result of human formation, would it have been able to make the distinction between those words at that age??  Then we can denounce that the Quran spoke about those specifications before the physicists discovered it by long centuries.  That is to say that the Quran is the first book that makes the distinction between the natures of the water and this is a material proof of the Divine origin of such a book.
